Here at EELA Canton, meeting our students where they are at is not just a motto– it is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why when you walk in, you will see an immersive and warm classroom that is tailored to your student’s unique needs, interests, and abilities. From the materials we use to the spaces we create, our goal is to not only be inclusive to each and every child– it is to build an environment that reflects them. If you love dinosaurs, we have dinosaurs; if a student struggles with loud noises, there are sensory headphones waiting. Whatever will engage your students is what we do!

A Focus on Social-Emotional Learning

With staff trained on differing abilities, trauma-informed care, and child development, we focus on building your child’s critical thinking and regulation skills. This means that every EELA student is not only prepared academically– they have greater self-esteem and independence. Each classroom is equipped with calm-down spaces, flexible seating, and calm, warm lighting, setting students on differing needs up for success. Our SEL coaches and partnerships with local behavioral health agencies give us the tools to level the playing field for each and every student.

Our evidence-based curriculum is just the start of how we learn at EELA! Here, we tailor Creative Curriculum to your child’s needs. After completing over 10 knowledge checks throughout the year, our degreed teachers create a unique plan for your child. This plan not only focuses on the skills your child needs to be successful in kindergarten; it also utilizes activities that they enjoy to make reaching those goals fun!

One-On-One Attention

At the heart of our approaches at EELA is the fact that our staff love and invest in our children just like they are their own. Small class sizes, one-on-one instruction, and over 40 years of experience guide us on how to pour into your child, encouraging them to be themselves and to love learning. EELA Canton gives the foundation for your student to love school, enjoy learning, and feel confident in their abilities to succeed– regardless of their knowledge or proficiency.
